Team USA won 13 medals at the World Climbing Para Series stop in Innsbruck, Austria.
The event ran June 15-16 at Kletterzentrum Innsbruck, with athletes competing in lead across para climbing sport classes. USA Climbing reported five golds, four silvers, and four bronzes for American athletes.
Official results from World Climbing list several American category winners, including Linn Poston, Micailee Soria, Brian Zarzuela, Brayden Butler, Melissa Ruiz, and Nat Vorel.
More Athletes on the Wall
The Innsbruck stop drew one of the largest para climbing fields yet, with more than 300 athletes expected to compete after nearly 200 climbers opened the series in Salt Lake City in May.
World Climbing has pointed to the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles as part of the sport’s growth. Para climbing will make its Paralympic debut at LA28, giving athletes and national teams a clear target after years of international competition.
In Innsbruck, the depth showed up across the field. World Climbing reported 11 athletes in the women’s B1 category alone, a record for that category.
The Next Stop in Innsbruck
The para climbing event wrapped just before the World Climbing Series stop at the same venue, with Boulder and Lead competitions scheduled June 17-21.
For the U.S. team, the medal count gives the program a strong early-season result as para climbing moves closer to its Paralympic debut.
